What is your Bayern story?**

In history books, we read that Spain colonized the Philippines for three reasons: God, gold and glory. God to spread Christianity; gold for the riches of the spell-binding archipelago; glory to show her sisters in Europe (the Dutch, French, English and the Portuguese) that she had likewise conquered the Far East.

FC Bayern Munich is one of the biggest and influential clubs in the world for three reasons too (because, apparently, it comes in three’s): silverware, support, and sponsor.

Silverware — as of this writing, let us see the major trophies won by the club:

bundesliga trophy

Bundesliga (German league) x 26

DFB Pokal trophy

DFB Pokal (German Cup) x 18

UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League - Q1 and Q2 Qualifying Round Draw

Europa League x 1

SUPER CUP TROPHY

UEFA Super Cup x 1 (Champions League vs Europa League champions)

club world cup

FIFA Club World Cup x 1 (Continental Champions pitted against each other)

UCL TROPHY

The fairest of them all: UEFA Champions League x 5

What will get you prouder about Bayern is that it continues to strive for excellence in continuity and consistency (though some may argue that they purchase the local league hence the names Bayernliga or Buyern Moneych haha try harder). A domestic double is really good but there is always room for a treble, right?

Support — Bayern Munich supports the youth in achieving their dreams. Some noted Bayern Munich Academy graduates are FC Bayern Munich skipper Philipp Lahm, current Die Mannschaft captain Bastian Schweinsteiger, the prolific Thomas Mueller and wonder kid David Alaba . Bleacher report ranks the Bayern Munich Academy fifth (2013); Newstalk tallies Bayern as one of the Top 20 Youth Academies of the world; The Sportster puts Bayern on second on a more recent article in 2015.

Sponsors. Bayern is rich. It is. One of the richest clubs in the world. The club is sponsored by (and take note, there are no shady benefactors) giants like Deutsche Telekom, Allianz Insurance, DHL, Audi, Lufthansa and well, Adidas. Full list here.

Figures are from Forbes, you may also read the full article here.

With the machinery and grassroots, proper management, talent and ambition, no doubt Bayern Munich will etch its name in many more trophies in the coming years.

This, in a nutshell tells you why you have, indeed, supported the right club. Who says supporting Bayern is easy? Who says achieving and maintaining excellence is easy anyway?

How about you? Why FC Bayern Munich?
